Art Show Proceeds

How Art Show proceeds are spent

In addition to enriching the cultural fabric of our community, this renowned and much loved Art Show has contributed millions of dollars over the years to worthwhile causes locally, nationally and overseas. Rotarians and friends volunteer their time with 100% of surplus funds (after Art Show running expenses) being directed to Rotary charitable projects.

The following are just some of the projects recently undertaken by the Rotary Club of Camberwell.

The Rotary Club of Camberwell is also actively involved in an array of other projects such as the Donations in Kind project. The Club collects and ships desks, computer equipment and school books etc. to countries in the Pacific region, Asia and Africa. Recent shipments have been made to a special Red Cross development school on Honiara, Solomon Islands.

The Camberwell Rotary Club is also supports Rotary’s international Polio Plus program which involves the mass immunization of 2 billion children worldwide with oral vaccine- particularly in those countries where polio is still a problem.

Rotary Camp Getaway caters for those of all abilities and mobility, provides a meeting place for support groups, and offers those who need it most a sanctuary away from their daily struggles.

Located in Axedale in Victoria (15 minutes from Bendigo), the former youth camp has received a tremendous makeover - thousands of voluntary hours have already gone into redeveloping the site to create self contained units with full disabled facilities and a modern dormitory.

Rotary Camp Getaway is the result of concerted fundraising by a number of Rotary clubs across Victoria, including the Rotary Club of Camberwell. The donations and physical efforts of these Clubs have been invaluable.
